Aggravation of kapha dosha (mucus, body lubrication) and improper cleansing of skin cause black heads. When kapha dosha is aggravated the skin becomes excessively oily. And if this excessive oily skin is not cleansed properly, this oil together with atmospheric dust clogs the skin pores, causing black heads.
Kapha dosha is imbalanced by eating too much of greasy food, white sugar and flour products, rich desserts, creams and butter, excessive sleeping habits and daytime siestas.
Easy Home Remedies
Use an oatmeal or almond mask to thoroughly cleanse your face. Mix either oatmeal or almond meal with just enough water to make a soft paste that spreads easily on your skin. Rub it on your skin with your fingertips, paying special attention to problem areas.
Try this oatmeal and apple mask for oily skin. Mix together a tablespoon of oatmeal powder, half a grated apple and a little milk. Apply this fruit mask all over your face and neck, and leave on for 15 minutes. Scrub off, moving fingertips in a circular motion for a squeaky-clean complexion.
Massage with a facial cream for 20 minutes. Steam your face for about 5 to 7 minutes. With a facial tissue or sterilized cotton wool, squeeze out blackheads gently. Rinse your face with cool water, and then pat on a natural skin toner with one part of honey to one part of cucumber juice, or buttermilk on the troubled spots. Wash off after 10 to 15 minutes.
Apply undiluted lemon juice, two or three times a day, on the affected areas.
