Your Birth Star or Nakshatra
The Ancient Rishis divided the 360 degree zodiac into 12 houses of 30 degrees each and further subdivided it into 27 Nakshatras or star-constellations of 13.20 degrees each. These Nakshatras are further subdivided into four quarters each called Pada. The placement of a planet in these divisions and subdivisions was studied to fine tune the predictions.
The nakshatra in which your moon is placed in your birth chart is called your Janma Nakshatra. The following are some of the basic characteristics of a person born in various Nakshatras. However these get modified based on the other planetary conditions in ones chart.
