Comments (shloka 1-4) :
- The word Hora is a combination of two Sanskrit words ‘Aho’ which means day and ‘Ratri’ which means night. ‘Horayastantram Hora’ means that the shastra or the classical text which deals with the subject of day and night is known as Hora Shastra.
- The way there are two parts of a day, the bright – which is known as Day and the dark one – which is known as Night, every rashi or sign has two parts of 15 degrees each.
- In the odd signs the owner of the first part of 15 degrees is the Sun and the owner of balance part of 15 degrees is tl}e Moon. In the even signs the first part 15 degrees belongs to the Moon and last part of r5 gegrees belongs to the Sun.
If in a odd sign the hora is of Sun and malefics are posited there and these malefics are posited in malefic signs in the natal chart too, then the person is cruel, rich and strong. In the even signs, in the hora of the Moon if benefics are posited and these benefics are posited in benefic signs in the natal chart too, then the native would be humble, happy, talented and fortunate. Contrary to this the results would be opposite. If the above conditions are mixed (benefics + malefics) then the results would also be mixed. If the natal chart and the hora, the lagna lord and the hora lagna lord, all are strong then the native is long lived, famous and happy. Contrary to this the opposite results would be there.
Comments :
- If natural maIefics are posited in the Hora of Sun and the ascendant is also in Sun’s Hora then the native is strong, cruel and rich. If the ascendant is in Moon’s Hora and the benefic planets are also posited there then the native would be humble, reverential, loving, intelligent and fortunate.
- If the ascendant is in Sun’s Hora and benefic planets are posited there then the result of such benefic planets will be influenced by Sun as the ascendant is in the Hora of Sun. But in this case if the ascendant falls in Moon’s Hora then results will be like Moon’s Hora.
- If the ascendant is in Sun’s Bora and malefic planets are posited in Moon’s Hora then their maleficence will be reduced. And in such a case if the ascendant too falls in Moon’s Bora then the maleficence of such planets will be further reduced.
- If the Bora lagna lord is in its own Bora, the Moon is in its own Bora and the significator of Moon is well posited then the native is famous, long-lived, happy and enjoys sound health.
