- In ancient India the ideal age for marriage for a boy was 16 and for a girl 14. These days it has changed. Now early marriage age for the girls is 20-22 years, normal marriageable age is 26-28 and the late age for marriage is 30-32. For boys the early marriage age these days is 24-26, normal marriage age is 28-30 and the late marriage age is 34 36.
- If the navamsha lagna is afflicted, or if the lord of the 7th house of the natal chart in the navamsha is afflicted, then the native may not marry throughout life.
- If the Navamsha lord is debilitated in navamsha, even if it is exalted in the natal chart, the native marries a mean and vile person. If the navamsha lord is exalttd in the navamsha chart, even if it is badly placed in the natal chart, the native marries a nice and virtuous person.
The 7th house of the navamsha chart and the benefic’ or malefic influence on it decides the number of wives; if either the Sun or Mars is the lord of the 7th house of the navamsha chart then there is one wife; if the Sun and Mercury, both are posited in the 7th house in navamsha chart then there will be two wives; if Venus is either the 7th lord of navamsha or aspects the 7th house of navamsha then there will be many wives; the benefic and malefic influences on Venus decides the nature of wives.

- The navamsha occupied by the lord of the 7th house of the natal chart and the sign or rashi in the 7th house of the Navamsha decides the nature and characteristics pf one’s life partner. The aspect and position of benefics and malefics plays an important role.
- If the navamsha lagna is Taurus, Libra or AquarIus, and there is no affliction to it, the native is loyal to his/he life partner.
- If the 7th house of the Navamsha chart is occupied by both Sun and Mercury, the native has relations with a minimum of two persons.
- If Navamsha lagna is either Aries or Scorpio, the native is emotionally or sexually related to more than one person. If there is a benefic influence on the 7th house of the Navamsha chart, the relationships are good and long lasting; in case of malefic influences, relationships are disturbed and short lived.
- Combination for one wife, two wives or many wives is to be interpreted in terms of relationships with the opposite sex for both the sexes.
The navamsha chart should be thoroughly interpreted like the natal chart.
